Graduate School Restructuring
President Announces Decision on Graduate School Restructuring
On Friday, June 26th, the President sent out an announcement regarding the restructuring of the graduate school. To read the report and to find out more, click We've come a long way from February when it was announced that the graduate school would be dissolved. The graduate school will remain, we will still have a dean, but other restructuring will take place (see the President's report below for more details). An internal search is currently underway for a new dean. Any nominations for the position should be sent to Katherine Himes in the Provost's office: hime0005@umn.edu.
In September, public interviews will take place, and a final decision should be made around October 1st. In the next year, all graduate school staff will remain in place, and work groups will be formed to evaluate a number of issues that need further investigation.
